Methodology · version 1.2

How we calculate — and how we know.

Every number in Datklima has an origin, measurement conditions and a date. We show the method, not just the result.

A value without a source is not a result.

Provenance

Every parameter has a source

Data comes from manufacturer catalogues, the EPREL database and Eurovent certification. For each value we keep the origin, measurement conditions and update date — verifiable.

Design temperature

Climate computed from data, not guessed

We derive climate zones and design temperature from the ERA5 reanalysis for the location. Heat pumps are computed on the W35/W55 heating curves, with a bivalent point and capacity at the normative temperature (e.g. −7 °C).

Certification

Eurovent, EPREL, KEYMARK

We tie performance and energy classes to official registries: EPREL (EU energy labels), Eurovent (performance certification) and KEYMARK. When a manufacturer doesn't publish a value, we say so plainly — we don't guess.

Versioning

The method has a version history

The methodology is versioned (currently 1.2). We record assumption changes with a date, so a selection from a month ago can be reproduced. Auditability is a requirement, not an add-on.
